Another collection of paintings with an animal in our service, which most of you certainly know very well. Very often we can meet him on our Polish rivers and his homes called feeding grounds.
Beaver Coloring Book
Information
Location - In our country we will most often meet it near rivers, because that is where it builds its dams and houses in which it lives with its entire family. It is a very hard-working animal. Making a dam on a river, as you can imagine, requires a lot of work and, above all, strength to dam up the bed of a flowing river or a stream and beavers manage it very well.
Trivia
- Nature Engineers: Beavers are known as "nature's engineers" because of their ability to build dams and cavities.
- Tail: The beaver's tail is flat and scaly and can reach a length of up to 30 cm. They use it to steer while swimming and as a warning signal by slapping it against the water.
- Teeth: Beavers' teeth never stop growing, so they have to wear them down by gnawing wood.
- Dams: Beavers build dams to create deep, calm water areas that protect them from predators and make it easier to access food in winter.
- Nocturnal Animals: Beavers are nocturnal animals and spend most of the day in their den.
- Vegetarians: Beavers are herbivores and feed mainly on tree bark, branches, leaves and aquatic plants.
- Flippers: They have buoyant membranes on their hind feet to help them swim.
- Winterizing: In winter, beavers feed on the wood they have accumulated in summer and autumn. They store it underwater near their dams.
- Communications: Beavers communicate with each other through sounds, body posture and smell.
- Family: A family of beavers, consisting of a pair of adults and their young, live in a given territory and work together to build a dam and den.
