Information
European Roe Deer are found in Europe, Asia and the Caspian Sea region. In our country the Roe deer is a common species, the most specimens can be found in the western part of Poland. Most often they live in flatlands and mountains, very fond of staying in not too dense forests and meadows.
The body weight of adult specimens can range from 20 to even 45 kilograms. The discrepancy is considerable, because everything depends on whether it is a female or a male. Deer live on average from 6 to 10 years, so for the age of the animals is not a long period.
The European species lives from the beginning of spring until late autumn in flocks consisting mainly of several individuals, which is led by an experienced female. After this period, i.e., one can say that more than half of the year they disperse and form smaller groups consisting of only a few individuals.
They are more active in the morning and in the evening. Their menu does not include many delicacies, because they mainly feed on grass, leaves and forest fruits.
