Halloween Coloring Pages
Hallowen is celebrated around the world on October 31st. At the beginning this custom was popular mainly in the United States or Canada, then it slowly made its way to other countries in Europe such as Great Britain, Germany or France. Every year this custom becomes more and more popular in Poland. In the former countries it is the second most popular holiday after Christmas.
Symbols are in particular a pumpkin that is cut out in the middle and often various trinkets are put inside. People dress up in various costumes that are supposed to frighten. Often the theme is ghosts, various vampires, demons as well as bats, black cats, cobwebs and spiders and other dark things that are supposed to cause fear in other people.
Children in the USA often go from house to house with baskets in which they collect candy. The host of the house usually leaves in front of his house a box or a bag in which there is a whole bunch of different kinds of candy. Children take the candy from such a place and go to the next house, then they divide the candy gifts among themselves. It is from this that the saying candy or prank is known.
It is assumed that this custom was first cultivated not in the United States but in Great Britain over 2 thousand years ago, in Poland only in the 90s it appeared and is becoming a popular holiday, especially in larger cities. The name Halllowen is freely translated as All Hallows' Eve.
