Crocodiles The Latin name for these reptiles is Crocodilia - they are animals that, as one of the few, proportionally spend as much time in the water as on land. They have lived in the world for more than 90 million years - they are called prehistoric reptiles. They are distinguished in particular by their long snouts with numerous teeth. They have a powerful jaw and a very large grip. As soon as they catch their prey they spin around and tear it apart.

They are not pack animals - they tend to live a solitary lifestyle and are quite territorial - but when hunting larger animals they are able to work together and help each other hunt. They breed on land where females bury their eggs in specially created cavities and wait to breed until baby crocodiles hatch.

The most dangerous of the representatives of this species is the Nile crocodile is responsible for the largest number of attacks on humans - but it is still very small compared to the attack of other animals on the human species.

INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT CROCODILES

1) The largest representatives of this species can reach a weight of up to 1 ton

2) They are ectothermic animals - so they have to regulate their temperature on their own and often bask in the sun to raise it or cool off in the water to lower it.

3) Sight - not all of you know but they have excellent eyesight and can see very well. Therefore, they have no problem locating their potential victims.

4) The largest number of representatives of this species live in Australia - we have over 100,000 of these individuals there.

5) When diving, crocodiles close their nasal and ear systems - water does not get in there at all, so tightly are they closed.

6) Rosicrucian species - can clench their jaws the hardest in the world. Their grip is over 1 ton per cc.

7) They are extremely fast in water. They swim at speeds in excess of 30 km/h and can last more than an hour underwater without breathing.

8) When it comes to speed on land it is almost twice as fast as in water, only between 15-18km/h.

9) If the prey that is hunted is not large in size, it is eaten whole by these reptiles, for example with large fish that they manage to catch

10) The pressure of these animals compared to humans is much higher - 50 times that of humans. Also this is an impressive and unbeatable result.
