Form of Government: The United Arab Emirates is a federation of emirates, each of which is effectively a sovereign state with its own authority and government. However, there is a common federal structure and the president of the UAE is the emir of Abu Dhabi.
Dubai and Abu Dhabi: The emirates of Dubai and Abu Dhabi are the most famous and influential. Dubai is famous for its futuristic skyscrapers, luxury shopping malls and tourism, while Abu Dhabi is the seat of the federal government and has large oil reserves.
Economy: The UAE economy is diversified, relying on oil revenues, tourism, finance, trade and innovative ventures. Dubai and Abu Dhabi play a key role in the country's economic development.
