Maracas Coloring Book

The maracas is an acoustic musical instrument made of wood, leather and metal. It is similar to a lute guitar, having five strings that are reeded similar to a lute. The strings are tensioned from the edge by using wooden wedges. The bridge and pin are placed on the skin stretched over the strings and are used to touch the strings and make sounds.

Maracas are closely associated with the traditional music of the indigenous Berber people who live in the Sahara. They are used for dancing and ceremonies, as well as for singing songs about love, death and religious feelings. The instrument can also be used in jazz, rock, fusion and other musical genres.
