The domestic chicken is the most numerous bird species in the world, with a global population of about 25 billion individuals. Wild hens lay 10 to 15 eggs per year. However, a laying hen on an industrial farm lays about 300 eggs at the same time, which leads to rapid exhaustion of the body, weakens bones and internal organs.
