Jabba the Hutt belonged to the Hutt race and was involved in criminal activities. He appeared episodically in Parts I and IV and as an important character in Part VI and the animated Clone Wars. Jabba was based on Tatooine. From there, he managed one of the Galaxy's largest criminal networks - in most cases, his organization had to be second only to the Black Sun.
