Ambulance Coloring Book
Ambulance is a vehicle equipped with appropriate equipment to provide emergency care to sick or injured people and to transport them to a hospital. Ambulances may also be used to transport patients between hospitals. Types of these specialized cars:
1) Vans - the classic and most commonly used life-saving vehicles in cities as well as around the world.
2) Four-wheel drive vehicles - here they are used especially in hard-to-reach areas where a regular vehicle cannot enter.
3) Motorcycles - used where you need to get there very quickly, for example in a city where there are large traffic jams and it is not easy to bypass them with a large car.
4) Buses - we use them when we go to a big accident like on a highway. They contain many beds and are better equipped.
5) Air transport like planes and helicopters - here we sometimes use them for transport when we need to get a sick person to hospitals quickly.
Ambulance equipment ?
An ambulance contains the equipment needed to stabilize an ill or injured person and transport them to the hospital. This includes stretchers, defibrillators, spinal boards, oxygen and oxygen masks, cervical collars, splints, bandages, and a range of medications and intravenous fluids. The more sophisticated vehicles, particularly the military ones, have the ability to even perform surgery on such a vehicle before it reaches a distant hospital or military unit where there is some sort of field hospital. Of course in each of these vehicles there must be a trained crew and a very good driver of such a car. Of course there is a doctor in the crew, but the most work is done by paramedics.
When do we call an ambulance?
You should assess for yourself the situation that threatens the life of the patient and you cannot deliver him to the hospital by yourself or if you do not have such possibilities. We have two types of numbers in Poland. The first one is 999 - we call the emergency service directly and there the medical dispatcher answers the phone right away. The second number in the whole European Union is the number for all services, 112.
