  3. Traditions: Chinese New Year traditions include exchanging red envelopes (hongbao) containing money, letting off fireworks, preparing special foods, and cleaning the house to get rid of bad luck and attract good fortune.
  4. Zodiac sign: Each Chinese New Year is associated with one of the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac. 2023, for example, is the year of the Water Rabbit.
