The Hollywood Sign is a landmark in the form of the HOLLYWOOD sign, located on the southern slope of Mount Lee in the Santa Monica chain of low mountains in Los Angeles, California. Over time, the sign ceased to be just a real estate advertisement and became synonymous with the American film industry regardless of whether the film in question was made here or in another part of the US.
