The currency is the Kenyan shilling. The capital is Nairobi. It is an important center of trade and tourism in Africa. The country is famous for its beautiful landscapes, diverse flora and fauna, and many different sports. The Kenyan sea is home to a huge number of marine organisms, as well as many species of birds. The country also has an incredible history and culture, which is clearly visible everywhere in the country.

Kenya is home to traces of older civilizations thousands of years old. The local people are made up of about 40 different ethnic groups. Kenya's history is now known thanks to the exploration by Europeans that took place in the 19th century. In the early 20th century, the country was divided between the British and the British Colony. In 1963, Kenya gained independence and control of its destiny. Today it is one of the most stable countries in Africa.
