ThunderCats is an American animated series that first aired in 1985. The series was created by Tobin "Ted" Wolf and produced by Rankin/Bass Animated Entertainment.

Basic storyline:
The series tells the story of a group of humanoid-cats (known as ThunderCats) from the planet Thundera, which is on the verge of extinction. The main character, Lion-O, is a young heir to the throne who matures in cryogenic slumber while traveling to a new planet, eventually maturing into an adult body, but with the mind of a child.
After arriving on a new planet called "Third Earth," the ThunderCats battle various malevolent forces led by Mumm-Ra, an ancient and malevolent sorcerer who wants to rule over them and possess the Eye of Thundera, a powerful gem that is the source of the ThunderCats' power.
Main characters:
- Lion-O: The young ruler of the ThunderCats who matures in cryogenic slumber while traveling to a new planet. He is somewhat naïve and impulsive, but over time becomes a strong leader.
- Tygra: Lion-O's older brother, a master of tactics and combat. He is more reserved and balanced than Lion-O.
- Cheetara: She is very fast and independent. She is the most influential woman in ThunderCats.
- Panthro: He is the driving force behind ThunderCats, both as a designer and as the pilot of their ship, the ThunderTank.
- Snarf: Lion-O's caretaker, who often provides humorous variety in the series.
- WilyKit and WilyKat: They are young twins who often provide the element of surprise and cunning.
Reboots:
