The most famous poet in all of Scotland is actually Robert Burns. He wrote during the Romantic era and described the typical rural landscape and daily life in a more descriptive and emotional way. His birthday is celebrated very majestically every year, this date is even considered a national holiday in Scotland. It is further commemorated, among other things, during the Scottish New Year's Eve, because then the song to which the poet wrote the words is sung.
